November update ๐Ÿ™Œ

Harriet Walters

It's time to breathe a sigh of relief. As we all emerge from our second national lockdown and November draws to a close, here's what happened at Eedi this month.

Our community of parents and teachers grew bigger with our debut webinar on dealing with Maths Anxiety. More than 4,000+ parents show interested and we hit our hard limit of 1,000 attendees. We're now planning our next three webinars... all coming up in January ๐Ÿ“น.

To help us achieve our mission, our collaboration with Mumsnet kicked off and a group of more than 100 families put themselves forward to test Eedi Family until Christmas. We'll check back in December to share what they had to say ๐Ÿ’ญ.

We'd also like to introduce you to a couple of new features we released to make Eedi better: Achievements and Topics. As always, totally based on your feedback ๐Ÿ’ก.

Eedi just got more fun ๐Ÿฅณ

We know from talking to children regularly that they like lessons with Eedi because it's fun. Yet some still tell us it's not fun enough... so we upped our game with our brand new feature called Achievements ๐Ÿ™Œ.

Achievements reward children for putting effort in, making progress, regular usage and going the extra mile. Our brand new collection of achievement badges will encourage them to keep coming back, building positive learning habits, boosting their confidence and improving their results. Children can even suggest their own Achievements.

Goodbye Quizzes, Hello Topics ๐Ÿ‘‹

We knew that some children were struggling to complete quizzes each week which can be seriously demotivating, so we're scrapping the way they work.

From now on, children will answer each question one at a time. If they get it wrong, Eedi will guide them through a lesson straight away to help them to understand where they went wrong. Avoiding disappointment early on should increase motivation and nip any misunderstandings in the bud before moving forward.

A new feature required a new name, so Quizzes will now be known as Topics.

January webinar trilogy: Top 5 maths mistakes Year 6, 7 and 8 children make and how you can help them! ๐Ÿ“†

It's in the diary! In January we'll be putting on 3 webinars, led by Craig Barton, Co-Founder of Eedi, with a different year group focus for each. Currently, our content caters to children in Year 6, Year 7 and Year 8 (we're expanding to even more ages early next year), so using our years of experience working with hundreds of thousands of children, you'll get the chance to understand what common maths mistakes children make in each school year and give you the tools you need to help to support them.

November stats ๐Ÿ“ˆ

We were excited by this graph showing the number of active children using Eedi in November. We're helping more children build skills and confidence every month which we're super proud of. It's what we're here to do. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Mumsnet collaboration ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

Exploring collaborations with larger communities is new for us. We reached out to Mumsnet to see whether their users wanted to try Eedi for free, in exchange for some conversations to tell us what they think. More on this in December when they've finished testing!

See you next month!
